Diversity Program

The PCCTSDP is committed to the principles of diversity in academic pediatric critical care medicine and pediatric trauma surgery. Limited funding is available for candidates from a diverse background who have an early interest in pediatric critical care or pediatric trauma surgery to participate in the annual retreat (see retreat dates). Applications are open to all fellows in PCCM or pediatric surgery who meet these criteria. It is not a requirement to have a fully developed project or a faculty mentor. Retreat participants will be allowed to view the application process, and will benefit from exposure to the National Advisory Committee of the PCCTSDP. Further, these fellows will undergo a focused development session, led by senior PCCTSDP faculty, exploring and expanding research ideas. We anticipate three to five travel awards will be given to diverse PCCM or pediatric surgery fellows. An application to the retreat may be downloaded using the drop down menu above. Submission deadline is October 1st. Applications should be submitted electronically by email directly to ped-k12@hsc.utah.edu.
